Also known as the ‘universal’ reed, Vandoren Traditional Saxophone Reeds are widely used among players of varying abilities and of different genres.  This reed is designed to produce an extremely pure and clear sound.  This is mainly due to a very thin reed tip (the area of reed with maximum vibration) and a solid vertebral column (more cane in the area which climbs gradually to the heel). Traditional reeds are recognizable by a straight line which delineates the limit of the bark area.
